A CATTLE herder searching for his livestock at Sibambayani Village outside Thulamahashe, Bushbuckridge, in Mpumalanga, made a shocking discovery on Tuesday.
John Ndlovu told Daily Sun he was returning to the place his livestock were grazing after searching for some missing cows, when he smelled a strong stench.
He looked around, suspecting that a cow might have died, but instead he found the decomposed body of an unknown man hanging in a tree.
“I called other villagers and we asked around if maybe someone could identify him, but because the body was badly decomposed we called the cops,” said Ndlovu.
“We were left wondering whether the man committed suicide or not and were all very shocked by what we saw,” Ndlovu added.
Mhala police spokesman, Colonel John Ngwenya, asked the community to assist them with any information that could help to identify the body.
He said people should also check on missing persons they reported.
