A MAN (38) was found dead in Singeni Village in Emaxesibeni, Eastern Cape, on Monday.
His body was found in an open field not far from his home, with both eyes missing.
He was allegedly last seen with three friends the night before.
Councillor Ncumisa Maqaqa said the body was found in the early hours of Monday morning.
“There was no blood where the body was found, which made us think the killing was committed somewhere else and his body dumped there.
“When we realised that his eyes were cut out, we thought his private parts were missing as well, but we found they were still intact,” she said.
Umzimvubu mayor Sobane Mnukwa has called on police to hunt the culprits.
Mnukwa sent his condolences to the family of the dead man.
Warrant Officer Zilungile Nkamba said: “A case of murder has been opened at Mount Ayliff Police Station. No arrests have been made.”
