Jose Mourinho to get ‘£300m budget’ at Manchester United

The Independent understands that Louis van Gaal winning the FA Cup should be enough to keep him in the Manchester United job next season, despite Jose Mourinho being linked with the job.

However, there is still an enormous amount of speculation and gossip that the Portuguese will be in charge at Old Trafford in 2016-17, with some claiming he has even signed a deal at the club already.

One such report, from the Daily Star, claims that Mourinho will be given a massive transfer budget to improve a United squad that looks likely to finish outside the Champions League places this season.

With four matches remaining, United are five points behind fourth-placed Arsenal, although they have a game in hand.

The Star names a number of potential recruits for the former Chelsea and Real Madrid manager, with Zlatan Ibrahimovic at the top of the list.

The enigmatic Swede is not believed to want to play for Van Gaal.
