Master KG (22) always knew he would be a musician.
The musician, whose real name is Kgaugelo Moagi, said he fell in love with music at a young age.
“I used to listen to the radio a lot and I loved to play the drums,” he said.
His hit song Skeleton Move, featuring Zanda Zakuza, has been the talk of the town for months.
Master KG released the instrumental version of the song in 2016.
“People loved the instrumental version and I knew they would love the song more if it had lyrics.
“Zanda was the perfect candidate for the job because I’ve always wanted to work with her.”
When Master KG signed a recording deal last year, he was still in matric.
He said the record label’s management told him to concentrate on his studies.
“They said they would make me famous if I passed well. I’m grateful for what they’ve done,” he told SunBuzz.
Master KG said he was trying to make his mother tongue, Selobedu, more popular.
“Bolobedu is a new genre we’re trying to promote in Limpopo. We want all the other provinces to hear our music.”
His debut album, which is also called Skeleton Move, was released on 21 September.
