KZN woman caught selling albino child to Sangoma

A Manguzi traditional healer who helped police arrest a 28-year-old woman for trying to sell a child with albinism, has been lauded.
The well-known traditional healer alerted police after a woman offered to sell him the child who had been missing since June 28 for R100 000.
Members of the Empangeni Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offence Unit nabbed the woman.
Social Development MEC Weziwe Thusi said the traditional healer had set a good example to other traditional healers.
“We call upon all traditional healers not to collude with criminals by buying body parts of people with albinism with the false belief that they could concoct a potion that would help bring good luck.
“If all traditional healers could work with the police, these abhorrent crimes could come to an end.
