A 41-year-old KwaZulu-Natal man was sentenced to life in jail for raping his 13-year-old daughter in the Emadanyini area at Eshowe in KwaZulu-Natal, police said on Saturday.
The man was sentenced in the Ulundi Regional Court on Thursday, Lieutenant Colonel Thulani Zwane said
He had repeatedly raped his daughter over a period of time, Zwane said.
“It is alleged that the accused will send his daughter to a shop to buy something when it was dark.
“He will then follow the victim and meet her on her way back. The accused will then rape her and threatened to kill her should she report to anyone,” Zwane said.
He said the victim reported the matter to her teacher in 2017 and a case of rape was opened.
“He [the accused] has been in custody until he was convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment.”
