West Ink boss Mampintsha’s apparently involved in an organisation that fights violence against women.
The organisation, called #fixHimFixIt, is expected to be launched next week.
According to Durban event organiser and artist manager Dogg DBN, Mampintsha decided to go for counselling after a video of him beating Babes Wodumo went viral.
He said a few artists, including Tbo Touch, had agreed to support the new organisation.
“There are people chanting ‘mute Mampintsha’ but they are doing nothing about the situation.
“We saw this and decided to come together and involve psychologists to help men from townships.
“We aim to fix problems most men face, which lead to the abuse of women.”
He said men could log on to their website to answer questions, which would determine whether they needed counselling or not. He said they would also visit kasis with Mampintsha and other members to talk to men.
Dogg said Mampintsha had decided never to speak to journalists again. He said he was the star’s spokesman and manager.
He said: “In fact, he’s loved by the majority of music fans.”
Mampintsha will be back in the Pinetown Magistrates Court on 15 May on an assault charge.
