South African rapper, Emtee has his fans on edge after seemingly calling out for help with the hashtag #FreeEmtee. He might not be in jail, but he feels imprisoned by his record label, Ambitiouz Entertainment.
This isn’t the first time the DIY 2 rapper has suggested that all is not right behind the scenes at his label and on Monday he began the week by issuing a few tweets that have some of his most loyal fans concerned.
He began by writing “I know my supporters want me to prosper” and suffixed the tweet with #FreeEmtee before sharing the hashtag once more in a separate tweet.

Although he didn’t mention his label, it was clear to anybody who has followed his career that this was a subtle hint in the direction of Ambitiouz Entertainment. If anyone was still in doubt, the poll he posted cleared everything up:

If Emtee leaves Ambitiouz, he'll lose everything. House, cars and they'll take down all videos & pages like did with A-Reece.#FreeEmtee

Some of the fans have a point; leaving Ambitiouz Entertainment may make Emtee’s life a little more difficult but the likes of A-Reece and Gigi Lamayne have proven that there is life after Ambitiouz with the right team behind you.
This is the second time this year that Emtee has tried to expose the goings on at his controversial label. Back in January, the Pearl Thusi rapper hinted that all was not well when he said:
“Y u ain’t did a tour?”
“Y didn’t you market DIY2?”
“Y u so quiet?”
Bitch I didn’t sign myself
